This is the creative blog of Gloria Hornby, historian turned illustrator.
After graduating with a degree in History from Royal Holloway University of London in 2012, I pursued a career in the heritage sector, landing myself digs in the remote but beautiful part of the world that is North Yorkshire. I did some illustration work there, focusing on children’s trails and heritage interpretation, and since then haven’t been able to shake off the idea of illustration as a career. I like to draw just about anything, though I’m inspired by depicting everyday objects and scenes in a simple and colourful way.
I now live in Bavaria with my husband and two little twin boys, and we are about to welcome another sweet Spring baby. My illustration has definitely taken quite a halt whilst I adjust to life as a Mama, and to life in Germany, but I know that my time to draw and create will have its peaks and troughs!
